Lake Travis, Austin, TX

Last weekend, Chris and I went to Austin and stayed on Lake Travis at a friend's lake house. (Thank you, Jody! :)) Chris' sister (Michelle) and her husband (Jesse) came, too! :) It was nice to get out of town, and we all enjoyed the great outdoors! Michelle and Jesse brought their boat, and "El Capitan" enjoyed the maiden voyage in fresh water. Chris rented a jet ski for a few hours on Saturday--something he's been itching to do for months! I'd never ridden one before, so he took me out for a spin. We had a lot of fun, but to his dismay, I'm not convinced to buy one of our own just yet! ;) The house was right on the water--easy access for boat, jet ski, and fishing--and deer were all over the place! It was a fun treat to watch the deer, especially since they were fairly accustomed to people and didn't scare easily. Saturday night was my favorite part of the weekend. We grilled fajitas and then took the boat out after dark and followed the live music that we heard playing. There was quite a party at one of the swanky houses on the lake so we just sat in the boat and watched and listened from the water. When we got back, we built a fire and made s'mores! :)
